THE ACTIVEWEAR LABEL PARTNERS WITH FEARNE COTTON FOR AN EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION

Fearne Cotton has been in the public eye since the tender age of 15, but it wasn’t until the release of her first book, Happy, that we really began to get a sense of the woman behind the fame. Openly speaking about her struggles with mental health, and the ways we can all strive to find happiness, Fearne has become a bastion of self-help for the ‘always-on’ generation. Unafraid of revealing the truth beneath the surface of an Insta-perfect life, she now hosts chart-topping podcast Happy Place, serving as a regular reminder of how important it is to look after our minds and bodies.

And it is exercise that is undoubtedly one of Fearne’s most trusted self-care tips. ‘For me, exercise is all about feeling good,’ she says. ‘Even squeezing a 20-minute workout into my day makes a huge difference. My body feels energised and stretched, and I feel happier.’ So, it should come as no surprise that she has launched an activewear collection with Sweaty Betty.

I wanted to make something long lasting that looked really cool. These are pieces that go from school run to workout or vice versa

Working alongside Sweaty Betty’s all-female design team, the collection has one simple goal: to empower the wearer to be active. With bright colours and fun prints, every doodle and design in the range comes from Fearne’s own sketches, with the words, ‘support women’ and ‘support the world’ woven into pieces. The range is available in sizes XXS to XXL and has been made for a variety of sports and post-workout activities to cater to our increasingly on-the-go lives.

With a focus on sustainability, many of the pieces are made from organic cotton. The collection includes an exclusive limited edition ‘Support Women, Support the World’ T-shirt, with £10 from each being donated to Mind, the mental health charity that Fearne is an ambassador for.

‘I’ve been a fan of Sweaty Betty for such a long time and have worn their leggings for years,’ says Fearne. ‘I wanted to make something long lasting that looked really cool, because I like wearing bold leggings and workout gear that isn’t plain or boring. These are pieces I will proudly wear that go from school run to workout or vice versa. I love the colour palette and I’m really chuffed that my doodles are on these leggings. It’s been a bit of a dream come true.’

Launching just in time for International Women’s Day, the collection was shot in London featuring three of Fearne’s friends – journalist and HuffPost editor Poorna Bell, Telegraph columnist and author Bryony Gordon and presenter and personal trainer Annie Price – all women who, like Fearne, understand how important exercise is for your mental health. The shoot set out to capture each woman’s personality and showcase a genuine group of friends: authentic, natural and never too serious.

Look out for a special edition of the Happy Place podcast featuring all four women on 8th March and shop the collection at John Lewis & Partners now.
